Why Lipo Patients Choose Dr. Smart

Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Ken Smart is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. That credential required specialty training beyond his general surgery residency, plus an in-depth exam before a board of medical peers.

Safe Procedures

Dr. Smart owns a QUAD A-accredited surgery center, and he holds hospital privileges at Baylor Frisco Medical Center. He operates alongside a board-certified anesthesiologist, so two doctors are present throughout your procedure.

See your surgeon at work

Thousands follow Dr. Smart's Snapchat account to watch his live surgeries. He has also been filmed for broadcast about his work with VASERlipo. Few surgeons show the work this openly.

What Is the Cost of Liposuction?

The cost of treatment varies depending on the technique, size, and number of areas you need to treat. After your consultation and physical examination, our patient coordinator will provide you with a personalized quote. We work with several third-party financing companies such as CareCredit® and Alphaeon® Credit to make treatment more affordable. If you have any questions, our friendly staff is more than happy to assist you through the process.

Dr. Smart Discusses Liposuction

Dr. Ken Smart explains why traditional liposuction is the basis of every liposuction procedure he performs. He believes the traditional approach provides superior results to those involving lasers or ultrasound, and can incorporate techniques such as “high-def” lipo for highly customized results.

We Offer a Range

of Sophisticated Techniques

Traditional Liposuction

Standard suction-assisted liposuction (SAL) uses a thin tube called a cannula that's attached to a vacuum to remove excess fat from the body. Patients are under general anesthesia to ensure their comfort at all times.

Power-Assisted Lipo

Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) uses a vibrating cannula to gently break up fat cells, making them easier to remove. The result is a faster procedure that is gentler on surrounding tissues and requires less downtime. PAL is also safer than certain alternative liposuction techniques because patients can spend less time under anesthesia.

High-Definition Liposuction

High-definition liposuction is a unique approach to liposuction that focuses on enhancing patients' muscle definition. During high-definition lipo, Dr. Smart can remove (and even add) fat to certain areas of the body to improve contours and carve out muscles. Patients throughout Frisco, Plano, and North Texas who want a more chiseled physique love this innovative treatment option.

Is Liposuction
Right for You?

GOOD HEALTH

Patients must be in good overall health before being considered for plastic surgery. Certain medical conditions can increase the risk of complications.

SUFFICIENT SKIN ELASTICITY

Liposuction cannot address loose skin. Patients with excess or saggy skin may benefit from an added cosmetic procedure such as a tummy tuck or thigh lift to tighten skin.

HEALTHY HABITS

Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can interfere with surgery and healing. We require smokers to quit before being considered for body contouring.

MEDICATIONS

Certain medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin can cause excessive bleeding during surgery. Dr. Smart will assess any medications taken at your consultation to determine candidacy.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

Liposuction is a body contouring procedure; it is not intended for weight loss. Patients must have realistic and healthy expectations for their cosmetic outcome.

Hundreds of Thousands of Americans

HAVE CHOSEN LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction can slim your figure and give you confidence. It's also the most popular cosmetic surgery in the United States year after year.

In 2025, more than 320,000 Americans underwent liposuction, as reported by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Want to join hundreds of thousands of happy patients? Dr. Smart can refine your body using liposuction. This effective procedure can give you a flatter tummy, thinner thighs, a smoother neck, and more, turning areas of low confidence into ones of high self-esteem.

From consultations to recovery, we aim to take care of our patients every step of the way. If you're excited to change your body and boost your self-esteem, our knowledgeable doctor can provide the patient-centered treatment you deserve.

How Can I Maintain
My Fat Loss Results?

After your recovery, there are a few things you can do to ensure that your liposuction results last. Because some patients may find that fat cells grow in areas other than their targeted removal section, a little maintenance goes a long way.

In addition to keeping a healthy weight, some of the methods you can use to ensure the longevity of your liposuction results include:

  • Eating a healthy diet
  • Minimizing or eliminating alcohol use
  • Exercising regularly
  • Staying hydrated
