Common types of male body contouring include liposuction of the abdomen and love handles, abdominoplasty, and male breast reduction. Up to 25 percent of men suffer from a condition known as gynecomastia, which is an excess of breast tissue. Through male breast reduction, a simple procedure which typically requires only two or three days of recovery, we can eliminate this unwanted fat and help you obtain your desired figure.
The most common form of body contouring, at least, that I perform, in male
patients is liposuction. The most common areas are the abdomen and the love
handles. The next most common would be the chest. There is a condition
known as gynecomastia that can be present in up to 25% of men. Most men
know they have it, but they're not quite sure what it is. And they also
don't know that there is really a pretty simple procedure for it.
Ultrasonic assisted liposuction is the gold standard treatment for
gynecomastia. Through small incisions placed in the chest, I can melt that
fat in the breast tissue first and then remove it with a suction cannula.
Then occasionally, I will have to make a small incision to remove more
tissue that's behind the nipple and the areola.
That's a very, very common procedure that a lot of men do ask about. A lot
of men are worried about their recovery. Can they go back to work because
they don't want their co-workers to know about the surgery. They're a
little bit more private with these issues. Really what I would tell them is
that you can go back to work after liposuction in two or three days.
The next most common, again, would be abdominoplasty. A lot of men do have
excess skin, and it's usually from weight loss. Again, there's no amount of
exercise that you can do that will tighten up or eliminate loose skin. The
best way to remove it is through an abdominoplasty.
