Cellulaze is the first FDA-approved, minimally invasive, internal treatment for cellulite - a condition which up to 90 percent of women experience. This laser treatment corrects the three primary causes of cellulite: fibrous tissues pulling on the skin tissue, fat deposits underneath the skin, and thin skin or a lack of collagen.
Cellulaze is the first FDA approved minimally invasive internal treatment
for cellulite. A cure for cellulite has long been considered kind of a Holy
Grail of plastic surgery. The reason is because up to 80% of women report
suffering from the condition.
Well, what causes cellulite? It's a couple of things. First, you have
fibrous bands that are internal; they stretch from the muscle to the skin.
These are the bands that pull in creating the dimpling. Interspersed in
between those bands are sort of globules of fat cells that enlarge. As
these fat cells enlarge, that's where you'll see the hills associated with
cellulite. Then the third thing is that you usually have thin skin with
cellulite, and so that creates the cottage cheese appearance that women
How does Cellulaze work? It's a laser treatment that uses a patented, side-
firing laser fiber. It does three things. Through a very small incision,
you first fire the laser horizontally. The horizontal firing cuts those
septa that cause the pulling. Next, you turn it and you fire it downward,
and when you fire it downward it melts the fat that causes the hills. Then
third, you turn the fiber up and fire it at the skin and that results in
collagen synthesis which results in thickening of the skin which helps
smooth the skin out.
