A breast lift is a procedure that is used to elevate a droopy breast. The droopy breast is commonly caused by childbearing and breast feeding. It can also just be caused by age. Women that have larger breasts to begin with are more prone to develop drooping breasts and require a mastopexy. Those women who have smaller breasts, in the A and the B cup range, a lot of times even after having children and breast feeding they won't require a lift because they didn't have the size and the amount of skin to begin with. The other option to consider is whether or not you want an implant with your breast lift. Usually, that is determined by how much breast tissue you have. Some women have a very large amount of skin with almost no breast tissue. These women will almost always choose a breast implant to help restore that volume that they've lost. Other women who have droopy breasts but they've maintained quite a bit of their own breast tissue, they can get by without an implant because their breast tissue will, as it's lifted and the excess skin is removed, have the fullness and the youthful look that they're desiring.
